Professional Women's Clothing Closet
The PWA's Professional Women's Clothing Closet moved to its new home at the Betsy Mill's in Marietta, Ohio in June of 2017 and is now called Betsy's Closet.

PWA Supports the Family Crisis Intervention Center
It is our great pleasure to help support the Family Crisis Intervention Center, a locally run Domestic Violence Shelter, their staff and families served, through monthly monetary donations collected at all Professional Women's Association meetings. In addition to the cash donations, we accept regular donations of items that the FCIC needs such as personal hygiene supplies, diapers, trash bags, cleaning supplies, toys, clothing, games, and much more. Recently the PWA has chosen to increase their involvement with the Center. The PWA is raising funds to redo a room at the center, with the hopes of helping them replace some of the flooring in the building as well. We will be holding future fund raisers to benefit this project, as well as accept donations on behalf of the FCIC. The newest project that the PWA will assist the FCIC with is Bags for Sexual Assault Victims. We are compiling bags for the Domestic Violence Advocates to carry in their car when they respond to a call at the hospital. Often times, the victim will need to give their clothing to the Police as evidence in the case, leaving them with nothing but a hospital gown and footies to wear home. These "care" packages will include things such as a T-shirt or sweat shirt, sweat pants or shorts, flip flops, comb or brush, and a toothbrush with toothpaste. All of this is an effort to help give the victims a little more dignity during a difficult time. To find out more about the Family Crisis Intervention Center, please go to their website at

This year's event also includes the launch of the PWA Ladies Professional Clothing Closet!
Attendees to the Women in Leadership Conference will be invited to bring one cleaned and pressed, gently used or new outfit (top and matching bottom or dress) that would be appropriate business attire. Please limit your donation to only one outfit on the day of the conference due to limited storage space at the event. The donated outfits will be used to build the inventory in the PWA's Ladies Professional Clothing Closet, opening June 16th at its new location inside the River Valley Insurance Agency office, at 265 Williamstown Pike in Williamstown. This space has graciously been donated by the Owner of the Agency, Regina Murray, who along with her Office Manager, Jules Hunt, will be serving as contact persons for this project. Once the Closet is up and running, the PWA will accept similar clothing donations on an on-going basis at the River Valley Insurance Agency location.
The intended clients for the closet include students that are interviewing or starting their first job, ladies who have landed the new job, but will not receive their first paycheck for days or weeks after they start that job but need appropriate clothing immediately, or even victims of a natural disaster. Also, the PWA works closely with the Family Crisis Intervention Center helping victims of domestic violence who have left their home quickly and are in need of clothes to wear to work. This is the perfect example of The Swing and we all can make a difference!
